Our school-age programme works on a rotation of BIG GROUP week and SMALL GROUP week.  

Whilst the teaching theme overarches both groups, the style of presentation, leaders and focus is different.  We alternate from Old Testament to New Testament each term to help enable the children to see the ‘bigger picture’ of what God reveals to us in His Word.   Look in the 'See Also' menu for this term's programme.

Big Group

Big Group week divides into Lower Brook (Reception to Year 3) and Upper Brook (Years 4-6).  Lower Brook is in Room 6 and Upper Brook in Room 7, accessed by the door on the left of the stage.

The morning starts at 10am when children are immediately engaged in a fast moving, front led programme involving praise, crazy games, Bible stories and group activities, finishing at 12 midday.  Each term is based around a theme such as Space or Jungle.  The morning has more of an evangelistic focus and children are encouraged to bring along friends.

Small Group

Small Group Week divides the children into four groups; Reception & Year 1, Years 2 and 3, Years 4 and 5, and Year 6.  During these sessions, the emphasis is on the application of God’s Word.  The programme encourages the children to grow in their understanding and knowledge of God whilst giving opportunities for them to develop in their giftings and explore the work of the Holy Spirit. 

Small Group provides the discipling element of the programme to complement the parental role.  The weekly bulletin has details of where each group meets and Welcome Team stewards are ready to point people in the right direction.
