Pure Vision Art Cafe is all about connecting with people, we see it as a bridge between church and the community. Held every Tuesday from 7.30pm - 9 .30pm at The Middle Brook Centre upstairs in a great exhibition space, we explore the 'lifestyle of Jesus through art with artists'.
Each week we have a different angle on art, in the form of a twenty minute seminar and demo which incorporates a lifestyle element.. .. how our lives and art are inspired by our relationship with God.
Each Tuesday in the month we will have a different theme:
1st : Photography
2nd: Craft and Design
3rd: Painting and Fine Art
4th: Poetry and Performance
Any time there is a 5th Tuesday in the month the evening will be used to host an exhibition.
Art Cafe will be breaking for Christmas and therefore not meeting on the 23rd and 30th of December or the 6th January. We will meet again on 13th January.
Any one with an interest in art is welcome to join us to come and take part, or just to watch and listen. Each week we have refreshments and delicious home-made cakes.
We have a large communal painting underway where people can put their mark, which at the moment includes castles, people dancing, animals and some other oddities, which is great fun.
Some comments about the cafe:
"It's a lovely environment and a wonderful source of creative support. I wouldn't have come to church if it wasn't for the Art Cafe".
"It's inspirational, a good creative environment. A lovely intimate atmosphere. It's really eye opening, I didn't know anything about Christianity except what I'd learnt about at school. It's interesting how it influences everyday people and it's not at all bible bashing".
"A warm, welcoming atmosphere. It's friendly and a good place. Very relaxing. It's educational, and not just about art. It's not in your face. You take what you need. It gives you bits and pieces and there is no intimidation. I have been into churches before and they are friendly at first yet it doesn't go beyond the door, here people would speak to me in the street".
